Intense Competitions Unfold on the Second Day
As the SJM 10th Asian Wushu Championships 2024 entered its second day of competition, top athletes from various countries and regions across Asia engaged in even more intense battles, presenting spectators with a thrilling wushu extravaganza.
In today's Men's Nandao competition, Chinese athlete Hongjie DU conquered the judges and the audience with his near-perfect performance, securing the gold medal with a high score of 9.796. Malaysian athlete Kai jie bryan TI and Macao athlete Jun hua HUANG tied for silver, both achieving 9.703 points, demonstrating the high level of competition in this event.
The Men's Taijiquan competition was equally captivating, with Chinese athlete Haonan GAO topping the podium with a top score of 9.813, showcasing the Hangzhou Asian Games gold medalist’s strength. Filipino athlete Jones llabres INSO and South Korean athlete Hyeongi AN secured second and third places respectively, with scores of 9.696 and 9.693, adding an international flair to the competition.
In the Women's Daoshu competition, Macao athlete Cho man SOU claimed the gold medal with a score of 9.686, demonstrating her outstanding strength in this event. Japanese athlete Kana IKEUCHI and Singaporean athlete Li ling kimberly ONG followed closely behind, earning silver and bronze respectively, with closely contested scores.
In the Men's Jianshu competition, Chinese athlete Yalin YANG emerged victorious with a top score of 9.81, showcasing the powerful strength of the Chinese Wushu Team. Macao athlete Chi hin KUONG and Malaysian athlete Shin peng SI tied for silver, both achieving 9.693 points, illustrating the intense competition in this event.
The Women's Jianshu competition witnessed a thrilling showdown, with Iranian athlete Zahra KIANI and Hong Kong athlete Hui yu lydia SHAM tying for gold and silver, both earning 9.686 points. Vietnamese athlete Duong THUY VI narrowly missed the top spot, securing bronze with an impressive performance.
In the Men's Gunshu competition, South Korean athlete Lee Yonghyun emerged victorious with an outstanding performance, scoring 9.703 points. Singaporean athlete Jowen siwei LIM and Malaysian athlete Su wei clement TING tied for silver, once again highlighting the high level of competition and broad participation in Asian Wushu.
In the final competition of the day, the Women's Nandao, Malaysian athlete Cheong min TAN captured the gold medal with a score of 9.693. Uzbekistani athlete Darya LATISHEVA and Iranian athlete Helia ASADIAN secured silver and bronze respectively, bringing the day's competitions to a satisfying conclusion.
The Sanda Session 2 competitions were held in the afternoon with 26 bouts. The quarterfinals of men's 56kg, 60kg, 65kg and 70kg categories were the fiercest groups, where athletes from different countries and regions vied fiercely for the chance to win a medal. In the two semifinals of the Men's over 90kg category, Kyrgyzstan's Karimzhon BALTABAEV and Iran's Mohammad NASIRI won and entered the finals for the gold, while Turkmenistan's Babajan IVADULLAYEV and Hong Kong, China's Jiahao CAI secured the bronze medals in advance.
With the successful conclusion of the second day's competitions, the 2024 Macau-Asia Integrated 10th Asian Wushu Championships are heating up. The Asian Wushu Federation looks forward to the upcoming events, hoping to continue bringing surprises and inspiration to spectators, as we jointly witness the glorious moments of Asian Wushu.
